Professional Development and Resources

  • High-quality instructional resources that meet the needs of our students and teachers must be an ongoing priority. These resources include comprehensive core curriculum materials that will support learning and instruction, supplemental classroom materials necessary for differentiation and an  individually adaptive program that will help close academic gaps. Consistency in programs and materials is important, but we also recognize that teachers must have a sense of autonomy within their classrooms and the flexibility to utilize supplemental resources and instructional activities to meet the needs of their students.

We believe in delivering high-quality instruction to attain high-level results in student learning and growth. Therefore, the district is committed to providing relevant, research-based professional development to ensure that our faculty and faculty have the knowledge and skills from a constantly evolving body of instructional research. This is especially important in the area of scaffolding and differentiating instruction and standards-based instruction. We believe that professional development should be a continuous dialogue where teachers and administration work together and have consistent two-way dialogue in order to plan training and select resources for what will have the highest positive impact on students.
