The Bloomsburg Area School District Title I program is committed to the belief that all children can learn and acknowledges that parents share the school’s commitment to the educational success of their children.
We define parent and family engagement as an on-going process that helps parents meet their basic obligation as their child’s first educator. We encourage an open dialogue between home and school and we acknowledge parents as valuable contributors at all levels concerning the education of their children.
This policy encourages parent and family engagement and was developed by parents and staff of W.W. Evans Elementary School.
As a component of the school-level Parent & Family Engagement Policy, the school-parent-student compact will be jointly developed with parents and family members. The compact outlines how parents, the entire school staff, and students will share in the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and the parents will build and develop partnerships to help children achieve the State’s high standards (ESSA, Section 1116(d)).
